Carolina Suarez is a project manager at Sweden Water Research. She investigates bathing water quality issues in Scania as part of the Urban Swimming project. Her research aims to identify possible sources of microorganisms affecting bathing water quality, and to potentially forecast microbial water quality. This is done using online measurements of the bacteria E. coli, flow cytometry, and DNA sequencing of microbial communities in seawater and sediments.
Carolina is a microbiologist, and she has previously worked on research of wastewater and drinking water microbiology.
