ÖreWise
ÖReWise's main purpose was to form the basis for the development and implementation of solutions in climate adaptation with a focus on a holistic view for the region.
The Öresund region is facing severe climate-related challenges. Both DMI and SMHI predict that the intensity of extreme rainfall and flooding will increase with a changing climate. Together with periods of drought and water shortages, this can have major social consequences. The work with climate adaptation is therefore essential for a climate-resistant society.
Cooperation between Sweden and Denmark
There is a great need for climate adaptation in the region and many common challenges to solve together. Against this background, the Öresund region needs to mobilize initiatives, apply new research, develop new cooperation models and implement innovative solutions both in the cities and surrounding areas, such as harbor areas and coasts. This is what the InterReg project ÖReWise has been working with.
ÖReWise’s main purpose was to form the basis for development, implementation and promote market-driven scale-up of solutions in climate adaptation with a focus on a holistic view for the region. The region is faced with major social investments that at the same time hold potential for innovative solutions within, for example, digitization. It can provide opportunities for Living Labs where new scalable solutions are tested and can be used as a showroom for international companies.
