This Year’s Urban Swimming Water Measurements Completed
The summer data collection has now been completed, and the next step is to analyse it. Together with data from previous years, it will form the basis for developing an AI model that can predict bathing water quality and issue warnings about potential problems in advance.
“As project manager, I am particularly pleased with the excellent collaboration in the project; the beach manager at Helsingborg City, staff at Pålsjöbadet, service personnel, our research team at Lund University, our PhD students, our colleagues at NSVA, and not least the support from KZ Handels (Bactosense) and Coliminder in Austria,” says project manager Carina Svensson at Sweden Water Research.
It’s clear that the subject generates a lot of interest, not least through media coverage. In June, Sveriges Radio P4 Malmöhus visited, and you can listen to the segment via this link. In September, SVT covered the project, and you can watch their feature here. Additionally, Helsingborgs Dagblad has reported on the project.
