Status pilot plant

At the beginning of the summer, Aquagreen began to test the various plant parts and right now the dryer is being tested. Unfortunately, the pilot plant is still not operational. The latest schedule says the pilot will be handed over to VA SYD in the last week of October 2024.

The announcement early this spring was that the facility would be handed over in June 2024. It has taken longer to test the facility than expected. In recent weeks, the dryer’s settings have been improved to get the Ellinge sludge sufficiently dry. This or next week, sludge from the Sjölunda Wastewater Treatment Plant will be dried.

The gas burner is tested with LPG and runs continuously when we dry sludge to burn off the smelly air from the drying. Aquagreen now considers itself close to being finished with the drying settings and the hope is that the pyrolysis will be able to start testing next week or the week after.

The delay this spring was that the project planning for the electrical and automation works had been subpar and that it was expected to take longer to dry test the plant than earlier expected.
