Testbed Ellinge is now producing sludge biochar

Since January 14, Testbed Ellinge has produced fourteen different sludge biochars from five different wastewater treatment plants at pyrolysis temperatures between 500-900 °C.

On March 14, the pilot will be handed over from the supplier Aquagreento VA SYD, but the project is already running production on the days that Aquagreen does not need to make any major changes to the pilot. What remains of Aquagreen’s work is primarily optimisation of the dryer, the web portal for trend curves, operating manual and CE marking.

Testbed Ellinge has started sending samples to an external lab to test the logistics but also to ensure that the analyses ordered are delivered. A lot of analysis results have started to reach the project as well.

All the dried sludge and sludge biochar that’s  being produced is being sieved. Below you find the particle size distribution of eight different sludge biochars.

A point on the graph should be read as the percentage of the sum of the particle sizes between the point and the point to the right of the total sieved mass
