Biofilter pilot system upgraded
Peter Rosander, Research Engineer, and Franz Geronimo, Postdoctoral Researcher, from the Urban Water Engineering Research Group at Luleå University of Technology have carried out key upgrades to the biofilter pilot system.
Additional tipping buckets were installed to enable accurate and automated flow splitting during storm event sampling. The biofilter pilot vegetation was also planted, marking an important step toward full system functionality.
Lastly, a test run was also conducted to verify that all connections and automation components are operating as intended in the single-stage and two-stage treatment systems.
