Ronja Nybom

PhD Student

Ronja is an industrial PhD student at Sweden Water Research and VA SYD, affiliated with Luleå University of Technology.

She holds a degree in limnology from Uppsala University and in water resource engineering from Lund University. Her previous research includes methane emissions from lakes, ageing green roofs, and biological nitrogen removal from wastewater using AnoxKaldnes Cella technology.

At Sweden Water Research, she is part of the ISWIM project. Her research focuses on the treatment of organic micropollutants in stormwater. The goal is to increase knowledge about the efficiency and conditions for stormwater treatment using biofilters and biochar filters compared to a constructed wetland, and to better understand how stormwater contributes to pollution in other parts of the environment and how these pollutants can be removed.
