Vinnova project completed, but Testbed Ellinge lives on
This week, the Vinnova project Testbed Ellinge – drying, pyrolysis and productisation of sewage sludge held its internal final conference. But Testbed Ellinge lives on!
Sixteen participants gathered at VA SYD’s head office to formally conclude the Vinnova project Testbed Ellinge, and to celebrate with cake. However, not all goals are achieved, and the test bed activities will continue until at least 1 May 2027 with support from Interreg South Baltic, Svenskt Vatten Utveckling, the KK Foundation and VA SYD, among others.
The total financial turnover for the test bed is now just over SEK 40 million. The test bed has been in contact with at least 280 different organisations. It has cooperation agreements with 18 different municipal wastewater organisations that will run, and many have already run, their sludge in the pilot plant at the Ellinge Wastewater Treatment Plant. There has been collaboration with 11 different universities in various ways.
