Good news! From Plate to Pixel approved!
“From Plate to Pixel – Faster Decisions for Safe and Sustainable Water” is one of nine projects granted funding under the call “Impact Innovation: Transition Lab within Water Wise Societies 2025 for Sustainable Water for All.”
Vinnova’s reasoning highlights that the project:
- is crucial for society’s resilience regarding water supply
- has significant potential to drive real change by challenging existing regulations, working methods, and organisational structures
- has a broad project team with relevant stakeholders and strong global connections
- has a project leader and key personnel with experience, expertise, and the mandate to carry out planned activities
- has a well-developed plan for disseminating and utilising the project’s results
The project takes the step from slow, analogue methods to fast, digital quality checks of water. The focus is on creating robust decision-making data, understanding organisational consequences, and influencing policy and legislation. The lab acts as a catalyst, support hub, and coordination centre – a place where technology meets practice and where innovation is turned into real benefits.
The call is part of a joint initiative by the Swedish Energy Agency, Formas (a research council for sustainable development), and Vinnova under Impact Innovation and Water Wise Societies.
