Construction to Begin After Summer – ISWIM Takes the Next Step
Planning permission has now been granted! Construction of the pilot facility for the ISWIM project will begin after the summer – a key step towards the future of stormwater treatment.
Preparatory work is currently in full swing at the stormwater facility in Värpinge, just outside Lund. Project Manager Carina Svensson and industrial PhD student Ronja Nybom are collaborating with colleagues from VA SYD and external contractors to plan pumps, hoses, flows, and control instruments – all to ensure flow-proportional water delivery to the treatment technologies being tested in the pilot.
At the end of August, the container with membrane treatment technology, a site cabin, and tanks for more natural purification solutions will be installed.
Already this spring, Ronja has been collecting samples of incoming stormwater, which are now being analysed to map pollutants. The results will be crucial in determining which samples to take and how sampling should be conducted going forward.
